초록 This study aimed to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of oral microbiome analysis in assessing periodontal status following scaling intervention. A total of 15 participants were selected, and periodontal measurements were taken, including Plaque Index (PI), Periodontal Pocket Depth (PD), Modified Sulcus Bleeding Index (mSBI), and Calculus Index (CI). Saliva was collected before and after scaling to perform quantitative analysis of the oral microbiome distribution. Significant differences were observed before and after scaling in patients with initial and moderate periodontitis, and changes in pathogenic bacteria associated with periodontal disease such as Aggregatibacter, Porphyromonas, Tannerella, Treponema, Prevotella, and Fusobacterium were identified after scaling. This study proposes utilizing quantitative analysis of bacteria related to periodontal disease as an objective and quantitative biomarker for evaluating improvements in periodontal disease after scaling intervention.
