초록 | Background: In Korea, as the number of patients suffering from back and/or leg pain with lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is increasing, the conservative treatments for LDH have been spotlighted. Several studies on the acupotomy have been published, but most of them are only case studies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupotomy treatment for the patients with LDH, compared with those of manual acupuncture treatment. Methods/design: This study is planned as a multicenter, parallel design, and RCT. The 146 patients diagnosed with LDH will be are randomly assigned to either the acupotomy group or the manual acupuncture group at a 1: 1 ratio.
